What to expect from Apex Legends Season 5?

Apex Legends is a Battle Royale that took the world by storm with its surprise release in 2019. Since then, it has delivered some great experiences for players. From seasonal updates to in-game events, Respawn developed a perfect formula for this Titanfall spinoff. However, the relatively predictable approach to its content has left players in a constant hunger for the next big thing. Thanks to this, the Apex community has its fair share of data miners and theorists for players looking for something new. Season 5 is on the horizon and in classic Apex Legends fashion, the leaks and teasers have been coming. So, what do we potentially have on the table?

New Legend: Loba?

According to data miner iLootGames, Loba is in fact confirmed to be the next legend to join the Apex games. Speculation for her character has been present since season 1. Formerly called Rosie, Loba received a substantial teaser in the cinematic trailer for Season 4 of Apex Legends. Although we were formally introduced to Revenant, Loba’s presence as the daughter of Revenant’s target was definitely felt. By the end of that trailer, she has an expression of anger and conviction to a goal after the death of her parents. Her visuals and potential abilities have been revealed alongside her walking animations. These files were available in the Apex Legends source code. Some details were also revealed on how Respawn intends to debut its 5th female champion. From what has been leaked so far, teasers will be coming to World’s Edge and possibly Kings Canyon concerning Season 5. These teasers will be in 5 phases with phase one beginning on the 16th. Once the phases are over, we can expect a cinematic trailer for the next season.

New Map: Gridiron, Troy, Harmony or Leviathan?

As we stated earlier, Apex Legends has always used a predictable pattern for its new content. The Season 1 map saw its temporary retirement with the launch of Season 3’s Meltdown and introduction to World’s Edge. From the established pattern so far, we can expect a new map for the new season. Based on the established lore in Titanfall, we have seen two planets in Apex Legends. Some potential new locations include Troy, Leviathan, Gridiron and Harmony. Also, the phase 1 teaser that is currently live in World’s Edge seems to be a tablet with an unknown location on the screen.

New Weapon: Volt SMG?

A leak within the Apex Legends game files suggests that the Volt submachine gun might be making its way into the Apex games. In an interview with Game Informer, game director Chad Grenier spoke about Titanfall 2 and emphasized Respawns interest in bringing more Titanfall content in Apex Legends. Although it wasn’t stated what specifically might be coming to the game, Grenier was quoted saying “there could be a pleasant surprise for Titanfall fans in Season 5”.

Buffs and Nerfs

The definitive guarantee. Apex Legends season 5 will see a meta change. Whether its Gibraltar coming back down to reality or Mirage becoming relevant. Season 5 is sure to shake up the Apex Games.
