The Time Stone
Oh its almost here everybody! We are in the final few days until the biggest cinematic crossover event in history, so lets take the time to talk about my second favorite stone, the Time Stone! What’s up everyone, I am Token Drew and this is the series Talkin’ Sh!t, where we sit back, talk sh!t and smoke sh!t.
The Time Stone is a powerful orange gem that gives the user total control over the past, present and future. At its most basic power, it grants its user visions of possible and alternate futures. The sumb*tch allows control over the age of beings and can also be used as a weapon by trapping enemies or entire worlds in never ending time loops (ala Doctor Strange MCU… Spoilers?) At its peak, when being used with the other gems, allows the user to exist at all points in time simultaneously.
In the MCU, the Time Stone is a green gem held inside the Eye of Agamotto, a pendant mcguffin that is kept safe in the Septum Sanctorium and in the possession of the magical monks known as the Masters of the Mystic Arts. Doctor Strange used it to reverse time after Hong Kong was destroyed, and also to keep the boss Dormammu locked in a time loop until Dormammu gave in, gave up and got out of the battle. Personally, I like the green gem depiction of the time stone as opposed to orange, but the live action version does do well with the time controlling and what not.
Notable Users- Thanos, Nebula, Adam Warlock, Magnus, Super Skrull, Gardner (the way he used it was really cool, he got his garden quickly to its prime then used the stone to freeze time), Loki, Namor, Thor, Mister Fantastic, Black Widow (….hm… I have a lot of reading to do!), Doctor Strange, Iron Man
Trivia- In Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite, the Time Stone allows the user to do a quick dash towards or away from their opponent. The Infinity Storm slows down the enemy significantly, allowing you to regulate as you see fit. (One of my go to gems in the game honestly.)
