Finding Bigfoot | Beta Review
Keeps you on the edge of your seat
Fun to play
Added Evidence to draw out the plot a little more.
It began with the disappearance of a group of tourists in Spring of 2016.
Even though the missing people are splashed across the pages of Jasper newspapers and the incident itself is dismissed by police as an “accident” there seems to be more lurking in the background, something you and your team need to investigate. Something, that seems as though it might involve the elusive Bigfoot, known for roaming those parts. With that, you and your team set off to find the real truth behind what’s going on…..
The title Finding Bigfoot is both intriguing and frightening, although only in beta and with some issues here and there, the game itself creates an eerie atmosphere for the player, allowing you adventure deep into the woods in order to hunt down Bigfoot himself.
Upon starting the game you begin in a trailer with the supplies you will need in order to achieve this mission. With some night vision goggles, some tranq darts, a rifle, a set of cameras, some traps and a flair gun, you’re prepared to face your foe. Racing out into the woods isn’t as easy as it appears, you’re surrounded by dense fog, sometimes loud roars and a chill in the back of your spine. This is where the excitement rolls in, and where the concept of what developer CyberLight really shines.
What’s more is resources in the game are limited and whatever you are given or find in the beginning of the game, is what you have for the remainder of that hunting session. Meaning, if you randomly shoot your bullets at the trees in fear of it being Bigfoot or accidentally set of flares into the grass, that’s it, they are gone and your doomed self can not get them back.
When looking at what needs improvements, there is the fact that the game does experience frequent crashes but again, when you look at the fact that this is a beta, that’s to be expected because it is of course, an early version based experience of the game. Overall, when you look at both the positives and negatives, the positives FAR outweigh everything else and what you’re left with is this undeniably alluring game that keeps you coming back for more, EVEN if you do happen to experience a crash mid way during your play through.
That is why I would personally recommend this game to anyone who is interested in either jump scares, spooky environments, or the main attraction of the game, Bigfoot himself. With this still being beta, we’re really excited to see what the finished product is going to be like, if there’s going to be anything added or what it will be like to play with more refined game mechanics.
