With the Call of Duty series, there’s always speculation surrounding which specific installment in the franchise will be the next to gain another title.
With an announcement, Activision has put those wondering curiosities to rest with an official confirmation that the next Call of Duty game will in fact be Black Ops 4, which will be arriving later this year.
Black Ops 4 will be open to play across all the main platforms, those being PS4, Xbox One and the PC. Its launch is currently scheduled for October 12, skipping ahead of the usual release window of November and coming a month earlier. The studio behind the title is of course Treyarch, who in the past have worked to create each new game to enter into the Black Ops series.
To sweeten this announcement, the Call of Duty Youtube also uploaded a brief teaser trailer which runs for a duration of 33 seconds. More information will be broadcasted on May 17 through a hosted special event where Activision will actually reveal the game itself.
